Job Description
The Senior Design Engineer – Environment and Sustainability (EAS) will be responsible for leading the planning, design, and technical evaluation of environmental infrastructure projects including water supply, sewerage, drainage, and wastewater treatment systems. The role demands strong technical expertise in hydraulic and environmental engineering design, stakeholder coordination, and project documentation. The incumbent will contribute to sustainable urban and regional development by preparing DPRs, conducting feasibility studies, and participating in stakeholder consultations. The role also involves supporting bid preparation, training, and capacity-building initiatives within project teams
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead design and analysis for water supply, sewerage, drainage, and wastewater treatment projects.
- Prepare, review, and validate Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), feasibility studies, and master plans.
- Coordinate with clients, government agencies, consultants, and contractors for effective project execution.
- Conduct technical presentations, workshops, and training sessions for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support bid preparation, tender documentation, and contract evaluation processes.
- Participate in stakeholder consultations and contribute to sustainable water management planning.
Qualifications
- 8–12 years of relevant design experience in water supply, sewerage, drainage, and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- M.E. / M.Tech in Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or Hydrology.
- Hands-on experience in preparation of DPRs, feasibility reports, and navigating statutory clearance processes.
- Exposure to municipal/industrial water treatment and urban drainage systems will be an added advantage.
Minimum Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Proficient in MS Office and relevant design software tools (e.g., WaterGEMs, SewerGEMs, AutoCAD, EPANET, HEC-RAS, Civil 3D, MIKE FLOOD, GIS).
- Strong technical knowledge in environmental/hydraulic engineering design.
- High level of customer focus, problem-solving skills, and willingness to travel for site/project coordination.
