Support Architect
Conservation & Restoration Projects | On Site, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh
Job Description
- Experience in supporting the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs).
- Familiarity with projects involving heritage structures, conservation practices, or restoration works.
- Skills & Competencies:
•Basic understanding of architectural design standards, codes, and conservation guidelines
•Proficiency in architectural and graphic software, including but not limited to:
oAutoCAD / Revit
oSketchUp / Rhino
oAdobe Creative Suite
oBasic familiarity with ArcGIS will be an advantage
•Interest and exposure to conservation and restoration techniques, materials, and methodologies
•Good analytical, documentation, and presentation skills
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing architectural designs and working drawings for buildings, trails, and associated facilities.
- Support the preparation of estimates and BOQs in coordination with engineers.
- Assist the PIU/PMU in the preparation of bidding and tender documents, including basic support during bid evaluation and contract award processes.
- Provide support to the PMU in monitoring and supervision of construction works, and assist in addressing routine site and coordination issues.
- Assist in the preparation of concept, schematic, tender, and detailed drawings in line with approved design standards and conservation philosophy.
- Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and documentation to effectively communicate design intent.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in conservation, restoration, heritage, or adaptive reuse projects.
